STATE AGENCIES MAY EUTHANIZE A BAT TOUCHED WITH BARE HANDS.
If the bat is indoors, please wait until the bat has landed and is motionless. While wearing gloves or using a towel, gently gather up the bat and place into a box. You can also place the box overtop of the bat and slide a piece of cardboard underneath and slowly turn the box to right it. If the bat is an adult and unharmed, open the box outside at dusk, at an elevation, tilt the box and let it fly off. If you are unsure if the bat is ok, please contact us. If the bat is outdoors and appears to be injured or is a juvenile, please contain the bat as described above and call us.
